Gopalpur is a town  on the Bay of Bengal coast in Ganjam district in the southern part of Odisha. It is an ancient beach built by Britsh ruler to make the trade with Burma through this port. It is a natural, deep sea port on the east coast of India.
Very easily accessible from Berhampur, it has plenty of accommodation options One can easily reach Gopalpur By city bus. Gopalpur Is Around 17Km from Brahampur railway station.

There is an old lighthouse situated on the beach at Gopalpur maintained by the Odisha tourist department The lighthouse provides a 360-degree view of Gopalpur. But due to security reason, it is not accessible by the tourist. No cyclone yet has been able to topple this lighthouse.
